The Girlfriend Complained
As soon as his brother and his girlfriend arrived at OP’s place, she started complaining about the smell. OP was cooking them all steak for dinner, but apparently, it made her feel sick. She said she couldn’t eat it. OP offered to cook something else. But no, she’d made up her mind. She wanted Chinese food instead and made OP’s brother go out to get her some.
It Got Worse
OP thought that the problems would stop there. Far from it. It got much worse when he got back from the bathroom and caught her “throwing [his] unfinished steak into the garbage.”
OP Was Furious
OP couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He asked what she was doing. Apparently, the smell of it offended her so badly she couldn’t take it. She thought she’d vomit because it was so strong, so it had to go. She then proceeded to take perfume from her purse and spray it around OP’s kitchen.
OP Kicked Them Out
He was livid by then and banished her to the living room. He didn’t even want her in his place anymore. When his brother got back with the Chinese food, OP kicked them both out. His brother protested and tried to change OP’s mind, saying he could cook something else for the two of them. His girlfriend “was pretty much sobbing” by then, though, and OP was determined to kick them out.
His Parents Weren’t Happy
When OP’s parent’s found out what happened, they gave him an earful. They were angry that he’s caused his brother’s pregnant girlfriend so much distress. He explained what had happened, but it was to no avail. They said she was young and being influenced by pregnancy hormones. According to them, we should never have kicked them out.
It Impacted His Brother’s Relationship
Another reason OP’s parents were angry was that the situation had impacted his brother’s relationship, too. Apparently, despite standing up for her, his girlfriend had made him sleep on the couch that night.
