It’s hard to believe the early nineties were now over three decades ago! However, to anyone raised back then, the unique sights, smells, and sounds of the time likely still ring clear in memory – as might the snacks you nibbled on! If you want to take a walk down memory lane, check out this list of 10 snacks you loved in the nineties…
1. Hubba Bubba Bubble Jug

Every kid needed an entire jug full of gum during the nineties! Enter Hubba Bubba Bubble Jug, which has now sadly been discontinued. As a kid, there was a lot to love about powdered candy that transformed into bubble gum once it was chewed…
2. Ouch! Gum

It wasn’t only the Hubba Bubba Bubble Jug that made waves during the nineties. Ouch! Gum was also mega popular – the novelty being the wrapper, which resembled a band-aid. Back then, you could buy this gum in grape, strawberry, and watermelon flavors. Now it’s not available at all.
3. Kudos Bars

Though launched during the mid-1980s, Kudos bars were actually big news by the nineties. These cereal bars didn’t really give you a healthy start to the day, but were craved by kids all over the country. We suspect that might have something to do with the high sugar and chocolate content…
4. Dannon Sprinkl’ins Yogurt

A color-changing dessert to wow your friends with was what Dannon Sprinkl’ins Yogurt was all about. The magic happened when the sprinkles were added, and the commercial promised “a surprise in every cup.”
5. Pizzarias

With a name that sounds like your neighborhood Italian restaurant, Pizzarias were brought to us by the Keebler Company. A type of chip made from fresh pizza dough, they came in three flavors: Pizza Supreme, Cheese Pizza, and Zesty Pepperoni. Alas, Keebler had fallen by the wayside by the end of the nineties, and the savory snack was then discontinued.
6. Minute Maid Juice Bars
This frozen version of your favorite Minute Maid juices was a real staple during the nineties. Whether you loved cherry, blue raspberry, orange, fruit punch, or grape, this really was one to slurp after school, especially in summertime. The best part? You can still get your hands on them today!
7. String Thing

String Thing seemingly fell foul of competitors like Fruit by the Foot and Fruit Roll-Ups. The Betty Crocker snack was big news in the nineties, but it was discontinued during the mid-2000s after around a decade on the market. Like a toy and a snack in one for kids, we’re sure some of you still miss those String Things.
8. Butterfinger BBs
Nestle Butterfinger BBs were like little balls of Butterfinger, all contained in a handy snack-size bag. Iconic in the nineties, this super cute version of the bar bit the dust in 2006.
9. Orbitz

If you think that bubble tea is a new thing, take a look back at Orbitz. It was brought to the supermarket shelves by the makers of Clearly Canadian in 1997 but didn’t last for long after failing to sell well. Available in six flavors, the drink uniquely contained little floating balls with a texture like Jell-O.
10. Jell-O Pudding Pops

Maybe it was the fact that you had to make this snack yourself that led to it becoming obsolete in 2004. But just try searching for these online to see how popular they were! There are a ton of recipes out there that promise to recreate these yummy molded treats.
